IVF i.e., in-vitro fertilization is a new method which helps to fertilise the egg cell outside the body. IVF technology sometimes consider as Assisted reproductive technology (ART). In this technique or process, the sperm cell & egg cell are allowed to fuse in the laboratory. According to the report about 6.5 million kids have been born by using in-vitro fertilisation, i.e., IVF process.
According to the report of Centre for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), every year about 1.6% child born by using in vitro fertilisation technology. If You’re thinking about why should you go for IVF process or it may be costly or maybe something other than this but IVF process is a straightforward process which doesn’t cost more.
Why In-vitro Fertilisation or IVF Technology?
An IVF technology is bone for those couples who’re not able to achieve child through the natural process even after the unprotected physical relation, and its reason may vary person to person out of all some reason are given below:
- If your fallopian tube is blocked or damaged (a junction where the fertilisation process takes place)
- It may be due to an abnormality of the sperm cell, i.e., decreases in the sperm cell count or problem with sperm mortality
- If women have removed their fallopian tube
- Women with ovulation disorder or premature ovarian failure
- Unexplained Infertility
What are the Steps Of IVF
IVF, i.e., In vitro fertilisation process is mainly completed in five simple steps which are listed below
- Suppuration of Menstrual Cycle
- Super Ovulation
- Egg Retrieving
- Fertilization & Insemination
- Embryo Transfer
Suppuration of Menstrual Cycle
In this process, female are given some drugs & injection for the 10-15 days to avoid the menstrual cycle. So that ovum can be collected from the ovary.
Super Ovulation
Naturally, a female produces one ovum every month, but a collection of one ovum/egg cell can’t be sufficient so that the woman is given fertility drugs to provide more amount of egg cells. The fertility drugs mainly contain FSH, i.e., Follicle Stimulating Hormone.
Egg Retrieving
Once the superovulation stage complete the egg cell is taken out by using a surgical procedure called Follicular aspiration. To carry out the egg cell, a thin needle is inserted into the ovary through the vagina. The other end of the needle is connected to the suction device which sucks the egg cell. The Follicular aspiration process is repeated for each egg cell.
Fertilization & Insemination
After the collection of the egg cell, all of these are place together with the sperm cell so that the fertilisation process takes place. In some case, sperm is directly injected into the egg cell which is called as ICSI, i.e., Intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection. This entire process of IVF technique is completed into the environmentally controlled chamber.
Once the fertilisation takes place, the embryo is implanted into the womb of the female. After the implantation of the fetus, women are given progesterone or HGC, i.e., Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin.
Embryo Transfer
It is a minimal process and will take only 5-10 minutes. In this process, you’re not injected with anaesthesia. Embryo transfer is mainly done by using a thin tube or catheter.
